Gemotions

The house seemed to shrink around Chloe, the walls closing in. She’d found the manuscript tucked away in the attic. Her heart hammered against her ribs. The plot, the characters… it was all so familiar, yet distorted.

She began to check all the doors and windows, making sure they were locked. Then, she started pacing, her steps quick and frantic, going over every detail of the story in her mind.

She felt a cold sweat prickle her skin. The anticipation of her partner's arrival was almost unbearable. Every shadow seemed to move, every sound felt amplified. She wrapped her arms around herself, trying to ward off the chill that had settled deep inside.
